Israel Committee Print

israelflag.jpgThe Israel Committee was formed to enable the MNS community to engage with the people of Israel and its culture, with a programme of events that includes:
~ Speakers from Israel and the UK;
~ Cultural events including films and concerts;
~ Educational events for all ages;
~ Political briefings of the Israel political scene;
~ And (of course) food and drink from Israel.

Severnaya, Twinned Community Print

severnaya.jpgSevernaya (Northern) Congregation, founded in 2000, is located in the northern outskirts of Moscow and has about 100 members, many of whom are pensioners. It is exceptional in the World Union constellation of Progressive communities in that it is completely self-sustaining on the basis of voluntarism among its members.

Severnaya Update, August 2010 Print

In November 2009, shortly after our meeting at the Sternberg Centre,  MNS had the pleasure of welcoming Rabbi Leonid Bimbat from the Moscow Centre for Progressive Judaism, to take the Torah service at our shul. Rabbi Bimbat joined our Chairman Harry Grant and his wife, Barbara, at their home for lunch on Shabbat, together with Rabbi Kathleen de Magtige-Middleton and her family and other members from our community.
